Putrid props, scary spiders, repulsive rats and a hidden mystery surprise await visitors to Dudley’s award-winning living history museum this month. Promising to keep both the young and not-so-young entertained throughout the school half-term, the Black Country Living Museum has created a revolting route around its site, with various gruesome activities popping up along the way.

Half term activities take place at the museum from Sat 25 October - Sun 2 November

Meanwhile, Halloween Nights (31 Oct and 1 Nov) sees costumed re-enactors dishing out tricks, treats and terrifying tales of old. Other entertainment includes ghoulish face painting, circus performers, fire-jugglers, street theatre from Fizzog Productions, magicians and living statues. Visitors are encouraged to turn up in fancy dress and join the musical parade through the village, with prizes being awarded for the best dressed adult or child.

We've joined with Black Country Living Museum to offer readers the chance to win a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) to the either of the site's Halloween nights (31 Oct or 1 Nov). Winners will be able to choose their preference.

Competition closes Tues 21 October.
