Joan Littlewood's brilliant satire on the folly of war continues to resonate just as profoundly in the twenty-first century as ever it did way back in the 1960s, when it was originally performed. Blending performance and documentation from the First World War, the production is here revived by award-winning director Terry Johnson and features a host of songs from the era, including Long Way To Tipperary, Pack Up Your Troubles In Your Old Kit-Bag, Goodbye and Keep The Home Fires Burning. Wendi Peters (Coronation Street), Ian Reddington (EastEnders) and Christopher Villiers (Emmerdale) star in a show which is visiting the Midlands prior to a West End run.
