B:Eats, a daytime cafe and eatery created by B:Music, the music charity responsible for Symphony Hall and Town Hall, has launched a new Spring menu, which is available now.

The new hero dishes of the new menu are the Brummie Butter Chicken Thali and the Red Lentil and Vegetable Dhal.

B:Eats is nestled in the landmark Symphony Hall in the heart of Birmingham, the city renowned for its Indian influences, most notably, being the birthplace of the Balti and the infamous Balti triangle. These two new dishes pay homage to the city’s culture and champion the fusion of Brummie and Indian culture.

Creating the dishes authentically was important to Head Chef Lee Hollington and with the support of new team members Amal and Nikhil, both from South India and kitchen porter Baljeet, the longest-standing member of the team, they were able to concoct the perfect recipes.

In the process, Lee had the opportunity to learn new techniques and how to use ingredients he had not experimented with before, from his team, with particular inspiration stemming from Baljeet’s impressive reputation in making samosas.

The breakfast and brunch menu now comprises of B:Eats Brummie Breakfast (Served with sausage, bacon, roasted tomato, roasted mushrooms, baked beans, hash brown, poached, fried or scrambled egg and the famous Brummie Bacon Cake); Veggie Brekkie (Served with veggie sausage, roasted tomato, roasted mushrooms, baked beans, hash brown, avocado, poached, fried or scrambled egg, and toasted ciabatta); Eggs Benedict; Eggs Royale; Breakfast Burrito; Shakshuka; Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs on Toast; Avocado & Poached Egg on Toast; Brummie Bacon Cake; and Brummie ‘Fake-Un’ Cake.

B:Eats’s lunch and sarnie menu offers Brummie Butter Chicken Thali (An authentic Indian feast, home-made butter chicken curry, pilau rice, samosa and roti, onion salad, mango chutney, and mint yoghurt); B:Eats Big Boy-Ritto (A giant burrito is stuffed with slow- roasted BBQ pulled pork, Mexican rice, avocado, sour cream, cool salsa, cheese and nachos, served with fajita-spiced fries); B:Eats Burger; Southern Fried Chicken Burger; The Godfather Sarnie; Roast Beef & Emmental Sarnie; Spicy Cauliflower & Chickpea Rice Bowl; Birmingham Soup (A traditional Birmingham dish from the 18th Century! A hearty beef and vegetable broth served with our famous Brummie Bacon Cake and salted butter); Coronation Chickpea Sarnie; Mediterranean Vegetable Gnocchi; Red Lentil & Vegetable Dahl; and The Toast Master Sarnie.

B:Eats is open Monday to Saturday from 11am - 4pm. For more information, please visit: bmusic.co.uk/your-visit/beats
