One of the UK’s biggest open-air comedy festivals has announced its 2024 programme, set to take place in the courtyard of Warwick Castle from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May.

13 stars of British comedy, including Simon Amstell, Rory Bremner, and Nina Conti, will grace the stage in front of the iconic building for the second annual Comedy at the Castle.

The inaugural edition of the three-day extravaganza in September 2023, which also features a selection of award-winning street food along with cocktails, craft beer, fizz bars, and host DJs, welcomed over 3,000 fans of stand-up and observational comedy.

The 2024 line-up will see 13 of the UK’s best comedians Maisie Adam, Eshaan Akbar, Simon Amstell, Stephen Bailey, Angela Barnes, Matt Bragg, Rory Bremner, Nina Conti, Gary Delaney, Janine Harouni, Spencer Jones, Matt Richardson, and Freddy Quinne take to the mic.

Comedy at the Castle, presented by Midlands-based comedy promoters CLOSEUP COMEDY, Digbeth Dining Club and Warwick Castle, promises an unforgettable experience within the breathtaking surroundings of the riverside medieval heritage site.

Star of Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and winner of the BBC New Comedy Award: Angela Barnes will open the festival on Friday 24 May, followed by the online sensation and two-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Janine Harouni.

Host of The Xtra Factor, Virgin Radio host and Dancing on Ice star Matt Richardson will also be taking the stage before the multi-award-winning satirist, comedian, writer and actor Rory Bremner headlines the night.

Saturday night's lineup will feature the award-winning comedian, podcaster, TV presenter and comedian Maisie Adam.

Performing in the middle of the show will be the star of Live at the Apollo and Netflix’s Sex Education: Eshaan Akbar as well as Spencer Jones - another hugely successful, world-touring comedian who has his own show featured on Prime Video.

Saturday night's headliner is Simon Amstell - a BAFTA award-winning presenter, writer, director and comedian.

The final night of the festival, taking place on the Bank Holiday Sunday opens with the two-time Sony Award Winner and someone who is cited as being “the most quoted comedian of all time” - Gary Delaney.

The tour support for Ricky Gervais’ last two world tours, Matt Bragg, will perform alongside another star of Live at the Apollo: Stephen Bailey before one of the world’s most in-demand and exciting comedians closes off the festival in style, Nina Conti.

Nina Conti, a British Comedy Award winner, has stormed Live at the Apollo, Russell Howard’s Good News, Sunday Night at the Palladium, and made a BAFTA-nominated film over her career.

Each evening will be hosted and compered by Closeup Comedy's resident host Freddy Quinne - host of the UK's number 1 comedy podcast: Dead Men Talking, and an online sensation with over 150 million views to his name.
