Sake enthusiasts and curious minds alike are invited to embark on a captivating journey into the world of sake during the UK's inaugural National Sake Week, running from 15-21 April.

Samuel Boulton, a leading Sake Expert & Trainer, is spearheading this week-long celebration, promising a symphony of sensory experiences for attendees.

National Sake Week 2024 promises to be a comprehensive immersion into the rich tapestry of sake culture. From indulgent tastings to educational workshops and lively cocktail parties, participants will have the opportunity to explore the nuances of this ancient Japanese beverage.

The festivities kick off with Sake Cinema, an evening of cinematic delight and sake indulgence featuring the screening of The Birth of Sake, a captivating documentary set at Yoshida Brewery in Ishikawa prefecture. Attendees will have the chance to savour the Tedorigawa sake range while immersing themselves in the rich heritage of Japanese brewing.

On 16 April, Birmingham Sake Club presents Masumi Tasting at Fox & Chance. This event offers attendees the opportunity to delve into the history and flavours of Masumi sake, guided by experts in the field.

Hospitality workers within the Midlands are invited to the Midlands Sake and Shochu Trade Tasting at 40 St Pauls on 17 April. Hosted by The Sake Events Company, this trade tasting provides an invaluable opportunity to discover new sake and shochu varieties.

Barrels of Japan on 18 April at Grain & Glass offers an exclusive journey into Japanese craftsmanship. Led by Samuel Boulton, this immersive event explores traditional wood barrel artistry and aging techniques unique to Japan.

Sake enthusiasts can indulge in a Sushi & Sake Pairing Lunch on 19 April at Utilita Arena Birmingham. Hosted by Samuel Boulton, this culinary experience promises a harmonious fusion of sushi and sake in the vibrant setting of Mooncat, Birmingham's newest Japanese live music venue.

Throughout National Sake Week, Birmingham's finest bars and restaurants, including Fox & Chance, Grain and Glass, Ikagai, Lucky7, Mooncat, Koba-Ko, Sushido, and 40 St Pauls, will be offering special sake-themed events and promotions, ensuring that sake lovers across the city have ample opportunities to join the celebration.
