Christopher Marlowe's subversive story of religious conflict and revenge has had its fair share of critics down the years, with many viewing it as an anti-semitic play. At its heartland is a Jew named Barabas. When his fortune is seized by the governor of Malta to buy off an invading fleet from the Turkish Empire, Barabas sets about wreaking a swift and bloody revenge... RSC debutant Justin Audibert directs.

The Jew Of Malta shows at The Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon until 8 September. We've joined with the theatre to offer readers the chance to a pair of tickets to the 7.30pm performance on Saturday 18 July.
