“We’ve always tried to create something which is groundbreaking and pioneering,” says Sonia Sabri. “I feel proud to say that we’ve presented something that’s very new and very different. We’ve been at the forefront of creating new ideas, and that’s exactly what we intend to continue doing.”
Sabri’s belief in the need to push the boundaries of dance is reflected in this groundbreaking dance-digital solo production, an exploration of the perceptions and misconceptions surrounding the subject of female body image. The dancer’s unique ‘urban Kathak’ language is here brought together with motion-triggered digital art and a sound score combining spoken word and music, creating a show which Sabri describes as “uncompromising, thought-provoking and humorous”.
