Birmingham Ormiston Academy Group (BOA) bring a festive favourite into the 21st Century with a brand new staging of Cinderella.
The popular fairytale has been adapted by Birmingham actor and comedian Janice Connolly and Birmingham actor, writer and director, Lorna Laidlaw.
Mindful of making the production relative to modern audiences, the duo have made a few changes to some of the characters, with the traditional Ugly Sisters becoming the Selfie Sisters.
For those unfamiliar with the story, Cinderella dreams of escaping her cruel stepmother and her larger-than-life stepsisters. With a little help from her Fairy Godmother, a touch of magic, and a sprinkling of panto madness, she’s whisked away to the royal ball. But with the clock ticking, will she find her Prince before midnight strikes? Will she leave behind the legendary glass slipper? And will good triumph over evil in true panto style?
Expect hilarious comedy, outrageous characters, dazzling costumes, and plenty of audience participation in a side-splitting, show stopping, and utterly magical panto adventure.
Whether you’re young or simply young at heart, this joyful, high energy pantomime promises to have you singing, cheering and leaving the venue full of Christmas spirit.
What's On are offering you the chance to win a family ticket (admits 4) to see Cinderella at The Old Rep, Birmingham on Wednesday 31 December at 2.30pm.
Competition closes Friday 19 December.
