“Two of the Preludes were the beginning of my own discovery of Rachmaninov, and I fell in love, completely and hopelessly.”
So says the phenomenally talented Boris Giltberg, a pianist renowned for the sensitivity and panache with which he performs the composer’s work.
To mark the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninov’s birth, Boris is here playing three of the great Russian composer’s much-loved Preludes. He begins with the early Prelude in C sharp minor, a piece which was demanded as an encore by audiences wherever Rachmaninov performed. The concert also features Preludes Op 23 and 32.
