Jenna here turns her hand to ‘decorating’ the walls of Midlands Arts Centre’s (MAC) Community Gallery by drawing directly onto them, creating what she describes as ‘a menagerie of strange creatures’.

Jenna’s work has been commissioned by the Bedlam Festival, an initiative which uses art to raise awareness of mental health issues. Her ‘menagerie’ is intended to be a starting point for a growing collection of drawings contributed by participants of workshops at the Uffculme Centre and MAC.

“I create collections of vegetable monstrosities and otherworldly specimens,” explains Jenna Naylor, “exploring ideas around genetic manipulation and scientific experimentation, hybrid species and evolution.”
