Player Kings

Robert Icke's production brings together Shakespeare's two great history plays into a theatrical event of the season.

Here renamed, Shakespeare’s Henry IV plays offer up some of his most beautifully drawn characters, including Mistress Quickly, Pistol, Justice Shallow and irrepressible comic knight Sir John Falstaff.

The epic tale finds England in turmoil, the king’s position weak, the Prince of Wales under the corrupting influence of Falstaff, and civil war inevitable...

Player Kings is directed and written by Robert Icke and features David Semark as Sir John Falstaff, Toheeb Jimoh as Hal and Richard Coyle as King Henry IV.

Raphael Akuwudike, Sara Beharrell, Samuel Edward-Cook, Geoffrey Freshwater, James Garnon, Alice Hayes, Henry Jenkinson, Nigel Lister, Annette McLaughlin, Mark Monero,  Hywel Morgan, Joseph Mydell, Clare Perkins, Daniel Rabin, David Semark, David Shelley, Robin Soans, Tafline Steen and Perry Williams, complete the cast.
