Arts Council England, with support from the National Lottery, will this week begin distributing art activity packs to children and young people across the country.

The Let’s Create packs are aimed at under-fives and children in primary & secondary school who are currently most in need of support.

The packs contain art supplies including pens, pencils, paper, crayons and a scrapbook, as well as a booklet with a selection of creative activities.

In the West Midlands, more than 2,400 packs will be delivered through Arts Council England’s Bridge organisations Arts Connect and The Mighty Creatives, and their local partners.

Commenting on the initiative, Peter Knott, Midlands Area Director for Arts Council England, said: “Thanks to National Lottery players, we’re helping children across the Midlands to lead creative lives during lockdown.

“Investing in opportunities for children and young people is a key part of what the Arts Council does to nurture the next generation of creative talent, and I hope these art packs will help more children from every background get the chance to flourish, despite the challenges they’re facing right now.”

The Let’s Create activity book was created by art teacher Andria Zafirakou, winner of the 2018 Global Teacher Prize. It is available to download here.
