Birmingham’s award winning BMOS Musical Theatre Company returns to The Alexandra stage this month with a 'spectacular and funny' performance of Dolly Parton's iconic musical 9 to 5 The Musical.

Set in the late 1970s, the story is one of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era.

Outrageous, thought-provoking and a little romantic, 9 To 5 The Musical follows three female co-workers as they concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss.

Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy by giving their boss the boot! While Hart (the boss) remains "otherwise engaged", the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

Patrick Pryce, BMOS Chairman said: We’re thrilled to be able to bring such a funny and popular show to The Alexandra stage this year. It’s such a wonderful venue to perform in and with the entire cast hailing from in and around Birmingham it makes it extra special to be able to perform here. BMOS is all about making musical theatre and performing arts accessible to our local community, and we look forward to entertaining our friends, family and fellow Brummies this month with our production of ‘9 to 5 The Musical’.

This year BMOS and its wider supporters are sponsoring a young person associated with Free@last - a Birmingham charity helping children, young people and the wider community of Nechells- allowing them to have access to an arts environment that would be prohibitive in any other circumstances.

The company is also pleased to announce sponsorship of the show for the second consecutive year from Birmingham based Genting Casinos. The sponsorship supports the cost of putting on a major theatrical production and allows the group of talented members of the Birmingham community to take a break from their ordinary ‘9 to 5’ and experience life on a professional stage.

BMOS Musical Theatre Company will perform 9 to 5 The Musical  at The Alexandra theatre from Tuesday 13 to Saturday 17 June - with a fully signed Saturday matinee available.
