Ikon gallery will reopen to the public on Thursday 20 August.

The Brindleyplaec venue has extended the run of two exhibitions which had just opened when the country went into lockdown in mid-March. John Newling's Dear Nature and Judy Watson's exhibition will now run until 6 September.

Ikon's summer season, including a survey exhibition about the gallery in the 1990s and its annual Migrant Festival - inspired by Birmingham’s cultural diversity - has had to be postponed until next year.

Admission to the gallery is free and visitors are required to book online in advance. There are new guidelines to ensure a safe experience for everyone, including one-way systems, hand-sanitiser stations and reduced capacity.
