An exciting new Pop-up Family Festival at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry, promises a packed day bursting with creativity, curiosity and fun for all ages.

Taking place during May’s Half-Term break, on Saturday 23 May from 10am to 4pm, the new one-day event features colourful performances, fantastic films, wonderful workshops and more - with many activities free.

Among the free highlights are relaxing Baby Yoga sessions (for 0-12 months and 1-4 years), an artist-led drop-in creative workshop for all ages, a mapped Sensory Sculpture Trail around the University of Warwick's renowned campus-wide outdoor ‘Sculpture Park’, and a clue-packed treasure hunt inspired by international artist/sculptor Daiga Grantina's new exhibition, Lilacs, currently on display in the art centre's Mead Gallery.

There's also a series of delightful animated film shorts being screened for all, including puppet film The Kite, in which a young boy is presented with a kite by his grandpa; Umbrellas, an animated adventure set in a land where it never stops raining; and Pond, a deep-dive into the sea with a young fish confronting their fears.

Alongside these free activities, there's also a chance to enjoy a matinee performance of Sisters 360, a heartfelt high-energy play for 8-12 year-olds inspired by real-life Hull skateboarders the 'Hijabi Sisters', and the hit stage production of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's feel-good picture book classic, Zog (running from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 May 2026).

Meanwhile, in Warwick Arts Centre’s cinema hosts a relaxed screening of the much-anticipated new Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu (12A), and a special parent and baby showing of the breath-taking documentary Ocean With David Attenborough (PG), in which the legendary, now centenarian broadcaster and filmmaker explores the wonder of life under the seas while also exposing the realities and challenges facing our oceans today. This one-off BabyCino/parent and baby screening features ample buggy parking, reduced volume and slightly higher cinema lighting, plus a 10% discount on adult hot drinks at Benugo.
