Dance Hub Birmingham has appointed Monique Deletant as its first Director to deliver the ambitious new initiative launching Birmingham as a centre of excellence for Dance in the UK and beyond.
Monique Deletant is an experienced Arts Leader and is currently Director (Job Share) at Stratford Circus Arts Centre and was previously Interim Chief Executive/Chief Operating Officer at Rich Mix. She worked at Akademi as Administrative Director for 8 years and was a Trustee of ADAD before it merged to become One Dance UK. Monique currently sits on the One Dance UK dance mentoring panel.
Over the coming months, working in partnership with the dance sector, Dance Hub Birmingham will collaborate with DanceXchange on the delivery of the dance strand of the Birmingham Weekender festival, develop a new commissioning process and continue capital work for a new creation and production space.

It’ll be great to see her work together with dance organisations and individuals to develop the next stages of the Dance Hub, as it adds to the city’s rich artistic and cultural reputation.”

Monique Deletant said: “I am delighted to be joining Dance Hub Birmingham at this pivotal time. I've been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and excellent diverse dance offer that already exists in Birmingham and I am looking forward to working with colleagues to showcase this to the world. Our next steps will be to look at a commissioning strand and develop programmes to support artist development. Now is the time to work together so that we can be more than the sum of our parts.”
