Digbeth has been featured in The Sunday Times Best Places to Live list. The comprehensive guide, now in its 11th year, includes a total of 72 locations across the UK, chosen by The Sunday Times' expert panel.

After visiting each area, judges assess factors from transport to broadband speeds to culture, as well as access to green spaces and the health of the high street.

The judges, said: “For more even more “va-va-Brum”, Digbeth, with its canals, railway arches and warehouses decorated with extravagant street art, has bounced back from the pandemic. The BBC is moving its Midlands operation to the former Typhoo Tea factory, while MasterChef is bringing its kitchen to an old banana warehouse. For fans of 'competitive socialising' (it’s the latest going-out trend, apparently), this is the number-one spot in the land.”

Further to The Good Food Guide naming Birmingham the most exciting city for food last year, guide also celebrated Digbeth’s thriving food and beverage scene: “Digbeth has classy bars (Passing Fancies for cocktails, Chance and Counters for board games) and places to eat from pizzas at Baked in Brick or Crazy Pedro’s (late-night haunt of Birmingham’s top chefs), to the high-end tasting menus at Michelin young chef of the year Kray Treadwell’s 670 Grams.”
