Following the resounding, sold-out success of Cabaret and Cabernet, Musical Theatre Thursdays, and Icons Fridays, Downstairs at The Grand is set to raise the curtain on its most immersive concept yet.

Club 1879 will transform Saturday nights into a clandestine journey back to the Golden Age of speakeasy celebrations.

Created in honour of The Grand Hotel’s original opening year, 1879, Club 1879 channels the glamour, rebellion, and excess of the Prohibition era. Underground, unspoken, and irresistibly exclusive, the experience promises a blend of live music, fine dining, and theatrical secrecy.

Club 1879 officially launches across three nights: Thursday 12 February, Friday 13 February and Saturday 14 February before continuing every Saturday night thereafter.

In true speakeasy fashion, Club 1879 operates by its own rules. Dates are released exclusively to members and passwords unlock entry, Mobile phones are banned, with cameras sealed using ‘No Tell Tape’, ensuring that conversation, and discretion, reign supreme. Guests will enjoy a specially curated three-course menu to accompany the raucous live music programme.
