Indico opening new restaurant at Touchwood
Posted on Thu 29 May
Next up in the popular Duvel Dinner series, Belgium’s beer of choice Duvel will be returning to Birmingham following a sold-out dinner with The Wilderness in 2022.
This time, Belgium meets the vibrant gastronomy of South America, partnering with Birmingham’s first ever Peruvian restaurant, Chakana on 9 September.
Situated within the walls of a beautiful old bank, Chakana is led by Michelin starred chef Robert Ortiz. Showcasing his passion for Peruvian food in a modern style, the dishes burst with vivid colour and flavours.
The menu includes both meat and vegetarian options, inspired as well as infused with Duvel’s key notes. Highlights include Tuna tiradito with fresh seaweed, miso caramel and asparagus paired with the crisp Duvel Tripel Hop Citra to compliment the sweet seafood flavours. Mains are matched with the expressive Duvel 6.66% and feature succulent Roasted duck breast marinated in the devilish brew, evoking hints of aromatic orange and earthy tones as well as Roasted courgette flowers. To finish, Duvel Original will accompany Suspiro Apasionado, a fresh lucuma mousse laced with Duvel’s flagship brew, merengue and chia seeds crisps for a punchy, full-bodied finish.
Priced at £50, experience an evening filled with great food and great beer, once again proving that quality beer is a divine match for a breadth of fine flavours. Tickets go on sale 17 August here.
