While Glasgow gears up to host the Commonwealth Games this summer, the biggest sporting weekend of the year for families, Festival of Sport, takes place in Warwickshire from 24-27 July.
Perfect for families who live for sport, and those yet to find their favourite, it's a high-energy, fun-packed weekend. It’s an ideal option for festival first-timers as capacity is limited to a few thousand with a compact layout to minimise time spent walking between tents and the main arena.
What’s more, as all children’s timetables are pre-scheduled, there’s no waiting around for activities either.
Go for a day or stay on site for the full weekend with camping and glamping available for the three-night event (and the most luxurious loos and showers you’ll find at any festival!).
Dozens of sporting legends will be coaching youngsters in over 20 different activities, including Para-archer Jodie Grinham, former Commonwealth medallists like hockey players Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh, athletes Derek Redmond and Joel Fearon and netballers Karen Greig, Serena Guthrie and Tamsin Greenway.
Add in rugby internationals Will Greenwood, Austin Healey, Ben Youngs, Sydney Gregson and Alex Goode, pro golfers Graeme Storm and Hannah Bowen and BMXer Matti Hemmings for the widest range of sports in single place at one time, all for a single price.
There’s a full timetable of different sports sessions on both Saturday and Sunday for kids aged 4-17. Under 3s, who go FREE, can also join in with age-appropriate versions of a variety of sports and activities.
There’s plenty for grown-ups to do too, with HIIT classes, boot camp fitness, yoga and pilates, sports massage, wood-fired sauna, organised runs and a range of wellness-themed talks. And when the sports sessions have finished for the day, it’s time to party with live bands, DJs, open-air cinema and circus performers, fuelled by a full range of food trucks and stalls.
Festival of Sport, takes place at Packington Estate from 24-27 July. Tickets are on sale now at festivalofsportuk.com
