Flat Iron have announced that they will be opening their Birmingham restaurant on Saturday 10 October.
Ahead of the official opening, Flat Iron will host a two-day soft launch, on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 October, offering guests 50% off all food throughout the day.
Flat Iron Birmingham is located at 40 - 42 Temple Street, moments from Victoria Square.
The restaurant’s concise menu is led by the signature ‘Flat Iron’ steak, taken from the often overlooked featherblade, known for its flavour, tenderness and juiciness when seam butchered with skill and care. The menu also features a rotating board of specials, including a Wagyu Steak of the Day and a Smashed Onion Double Cheeseburger made using beef from the Flat Iron herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire. Sides include Flat Iron’s beef dripping chips, creamed spinach, truffled macaroni cheese and crispy bone marrow garlic mash.
A curated selection of wines makes up the drinks list, including Flat Iron’s very own Malbec, specially blended by the Flat Iron team using grapes grown in the Limoux area of the Languedoc in southern France. Alongside the wine list sits a selection of draft beer, house fizzes and Flat Iron’s signature cocktails.
Set across two floors, with 60 covers at ground level and a further 50 covers on the first floor, the restaurant has a distinctly industrial aesthetic, with exposed brickwork and mild steel glazed screens, softened by a mix of vintage lighting and reclaimed furniture. The back bar is built from reclaimed industrial shelving originally designed for libraries, bringing an element of industrial history into the restaurant. Planting frames the shopfront in signature Flat Iron style, while trailing vines weaving across internal screens bring greenery throughout the restaurant.
Guests wishing to attend the soft launch can register their interest via the Birmingham restaurant page on the Flat Iron website, with tables available on a first come, first served basis.
