Independent food and drink destination Society Birmingham will welcome Korean soul food legends Yoki Social Table to its line-up of street food traders on 12 October, bringing its signature Korean fried chicken to One Colmore Square.

To celebrate the launch, the Yoki Social Table team will be giving away 40 free portions of KFC on opening day. Twenty portions will be up for grabs from midday, with another twenty available from 5pm. Both batches will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so fried chicken lovers will need to be quick as once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Yoki Social Table was born from a love for Korean cuisine and cooking. Denny K Song, the founder of Yoki Social Table, developed his skills during his time in the Korean Navy as a chef. After moving to the UK, he found himself missing the food and flavours of home, particularly his mum’s cooking, and set out to bring those much-loved recipes to a new audience.

Guests can expect a menu packed with Korean comfort food, from classic Korean mandu’s (dumplings), to succulent crispy duck layered over steamed rice with soy garlic bulgogi sauce. Yoki’s signature Korean fried chicken comes coated in house-made soy garlic sauce, sweet & spicy sauce, or honey butter garlic sauce, and is served with crispy fries or freshly steamed rice.

Having opened its doors at One Colmore Square last September, Society Birmingham is now a firm fixture on the city’s independent food and drink map. Home to five street food traders and the city’s biggest and best beer bar, with forty brews on tap, Society also serves expertly crafted cocktails and a cracking wine list. A carefully curated playlist and regular DJs complete a relaxed, social dining and drinking experience for groups of all sizes, with something to suit every taste.
