Roll up, roll up, Brummies! This Thursday (21 August) between 7am and 7pm, Birmingham’s highly anticipated food hall, Society, is giving locals a FREE taste of what’s to come with a 12-hour takeover of one of the city’s most iconic red phone boxes.

Located on Temple Row’s Cathedral Square, just around the corner from One Colmore Square where Society will call its home, overlooking St Philip's Cathedral and the churchyard, the phonebox is temporarily home to three of five Society traders for the day, with morning coffee brewed from The Coffee Bar Collective, lunchtime sandos from Shokupan, and after-work beers with the Glasshouse x Society Pale Ale, mirroring Society’s day-to-night offerings.

What’s on the menu:

- 7am–10am, The Coffee Bar Collective: Commuters in need of a pick-me-up can grab a barista-made coffee from The Coffee Bar Collective, which work with small-scale farmers, roasters, and artisans on their speciality brews

- 12–2pm, Shokupan: Keep your packed lunch at home, because Shokupan are giving away their Japanese sandos, known for their soft milk bread and expertly crafted deli fillings

- 5–7pm, GlassHouse Brewery X Society: Did somebody say thirsty Thursday?! A first-ever taste of the Society Pale, which will be officially launched at Society. It’s a 4.5% hazy pale ale brewed in collaboration with GlassHouse Brewery, brewed with Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops, it bursts with flavours of citrus, white grape, and stone fruit.

The countdown is on to Society’s official opening at One Colmore Square on Friday, 5th September, bringing together five independent kitchens, Society taproom, and a dedicated cocktail bar in one vibrant, design-led space. The Society bar will be the centrepiece within the space, and guests can expect to see a curated beer and cider collection encompassing the best that Birmingham, the UK and further afield has to offer.

The activation will run for one day on Thursday 21 August from 7am - 7pm, no bookings needed. For more information and updates, visit: instagram.com/society.brum
