New eatery Greek Aura Restaurant to open on Alcester Road in Moseley on Friday 5 September.
Greek Aura Restaurant is poised to introduce a taste of Greece to the heart of the Moseley community with its grand opening this September, becoming a highly anticipated addition to the local dining scene. This exciting venture, led by the husband-and-wife team Miri and Ola, aims to bring authentic Greek cuisine to the vibrant community of Moseley.
Miri, born and raised in Rhodes, Greece, carries a deep-rooted connection to the warmth of Greek hospitality. With an impressive background that includes four years as a manager at a Greek restaurant in the Midlands and a year as a chef, he is excited to share his heritage. Joining him in this venture is his wife, Ola, who brings her business expertise to oversee the operational aspects of the restaurant.
“After exploring various areas in Birmingham, we felt that Moseley was the perfect place to introduce a Greek restaurant,” Ola shared.
Greek Aura Restaurant will be a true family affair, with Miri’s mother taking on the role of head chef. With over 30 years of experience in hospitality, she will bring family recipes to the menu, ensuring that each dish captures the essence of Greek culture. Diners can look forward to a diverse selection of traditional favourites, including meze, souvlaki, moussaka, dolmades and other classic dishes, including options for vegan and vegetarians. The menu will also feature a carefully curated selection of fine Greek wines and beers, providing the perfect complement to the authentic flavours of the cuisine.
Setting itself apart, the restaurant will offer a fine dining experience at affordable prices, making authentic Greek cuisine accessible to all. The restaurant's interiors will feature a cozy, traditional design, enhanced by stunning hand-painted sea blue landscape murals created by a local artist Lucy Danielle, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. To further enrich the dining experience, a backdrop of Greek music will transport guests back to their holiday in Greece.
“We’re excited to introduce Greek hospitality to this wonderful community,” Miri expressed. “Our aim is to create a warm and inviting space where everyone can enjoy our family recipes and experience the joy of sharing meals together, just as we do back in Greece.”
The restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owners also plan to introduce a takeaway service, allowing patrons to indulge in their favourite Greek dishes from the comfort of home.
As anticipation builds for the grand opening, the local community is invited to join Miri and Ola on Friday 5 September at 5:00pm. Guests will enjoy a complimentary tasting menu offering an array of meze, ouzo, Greek music and the fun tradition of plate smashing.
