The hour is darkening and the bells will soon ring once again for The Wine Events Company's most chilling (and thrilling) season of the year, Halloween Movies with Wine.

This autumn the popular events company are conjuring up a spine-tingling line-up of cult classics, gothic horrors, spooky adventures and laugh-out-loud frights – all paired with seriously good wine. Think horror, laughs, great wine, and adventure, all wrapped up in one unforgettable evening.

The Lost Boys – 25 October – SOLD OUT The Mockingbird, Digbeth - Hosted by none other than Trey Killwell the Third, vampire hunter from Santa Carla, California, who’s here to keep Birmingham safe from a rampaging Californian vampire crew recently landed on our shores. Expect garlic, stakes (wooden not ribeye), and a killer wine pairing to match this ‘80s cult classic.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon – 31 October – The Crescent Theatre, Brindley Place - Join your host: Amazon Exploration Leader and Sommelier, Tony Elvin! On Halloween night, take a deep dive into this wondrous Creature-Feature and Wine tasting adventure, featuring five fantastic South American wines.Movie synopsis: Remnants of a mysterious animal surface in a remote jungle, sparking an expedition to discover whether it’s merely an anomaly or an undiscovered beast. The treacherous Amazonian terrain will be the least of our worries, as an otherworldly creature lurks in the shadows, threatening to wreak havoc on our Halloween night.

Pan’s Labyrinth – 1 November – The Mockingbird, Digbeth - Guillermo del Toro’s dark fairy tale transports us to Franco’s Spain, where young Ofelia stumbles upon a mythical labyrinth filled with both wonder and terror. The wines will be as enchanting as the faun himself, leading you through a tasting journey full of earthy reds, mysterious blends, and a touch of magic all stolen from the Captain's cellar by local resistance fighter and Sommelier, Antonio.

Dracula (1931) – 1 November – The Mockingbird, Digbeth - Bela Lugosi’s immortal portrayal of Count Dracula comes alive once more on the big screen. Join your host for the night Tony Van Helsing and prepare for gothic atmosphere, creeping shadows, and a suitably brooding line-up of wines that may just tempt you to the dark side. Nosferatu himself would approve.

Shaun of the Dead – 2 November – The Hub at St Mary’s, Lichfield - Zombies, pubs, Queen on the jukebox… and now wine! What more could you possibly want from Britain’s best-loved zom-com? Expect themed pours with a cheeky British twist and plenty of laughs as Shaun and Ed attempt to survive the end of the world, one pint (or glass) at a time.

Ghostbusters – 15 November – The Mockingbird, Digbeth - Who you gonna call? Your Ghostbuster for the night, Tony! Suit up for this supernatural comedy classic, paired with wines that will leave you feeling positively ectoplasmic. Keep your proton packs close and your glasses closer, because Slimer’s not the only one doing some serious drinking.

Each evening is a proper wine tasting experience with a twist. They'll be pausing the action at just the right moments to pour your next glass of themed wine – each one carefully chosen to match the movie’s mood, characters, or storyline.
