This October half term, MAC will be welcoming back its annual digital festival for children, Little Geeks, from Friday 22 to Saturday 30 October. The nine-day festival includes an exciting mix of live shows, virtual reality, gaming and workshops for little geeks (aged 4 – 12), with a special event for big geeks (aged 14+).

The festival will kick off with Motionhouse’s Nobody – an action-packed performance of dance, digital illusion and projections. Motionhouse will also be hosting a Dance-Circus Workshop for Children on Mon 25 October.

Multi-sensory performance company Bittersuite will take audiences on a deep dive into yourSELF on Sat 30 October. A guided meander through a pathway of your choosing; this interactive performance is an opportunity to zoom right in to the tiniest details of existence, and way out to the vastness that holds us.

Join MAC for the Little Geek’s Smart Play Zone on Wednesday 27 – Friday 29 October packed with fun, digital experiences and the latest in tech and gaming. Explore state-of-the-art VR with STEAMhouse, play old-school retro games with Dead Pixels, chill-out with Syntropy States Digital Meditation, and experience our new Little Geeks Ozone, MAC’s prototype virtual reality space. Families can also enjoy a screening of Wreck It Ralph on Tuesday 26 October.

For young people and adults, the Retro Gaming Night on Thursday 28 Oct includes classics such as Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat, Doom, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario Kart, as well as a live DJ set from female DJ collective, Selextorhood.

Little Geeks will feature exciting creative courses throughout half term. Introduction to Wheelwork on Mon 25 October is a one-day course that introduces the world of ceramics to young people. From Virtual Reality Filmmaking, to Family Pottery: Pac Man™, Tertis™ Money Boxes and a Halloween-inspired Day of the Dead LED & UV Masks, there’s something for every young explorer. Our brand new Magic Camp for 6 to 11 year-olds is a weeklong magical experience filled with costumes, potions and puppet making!
