Birmingham’s Moseley Folk and Arts Festival has revealed The Longest Johns as headline act for the first of their forthcoming 20th anniversary All-Dayers.

Taking place at The Crossing, Birmingham, on Saturday 29 November 2025, the first Moseley Folk and Arts All-Dayer will see various acts associated with the end-of-summer festival take to the stage. Further special guests – along with details of a second All-Dayer – will be announced soon.

Having bonded over sea shanties in their native Bristol a decade ago, The Longest Johns – Jonathan ‘JD’ Darley, Andy Yates and Robbie Sattin – have reimagined many of folk's classic songs while adding their own unique style of song writing to the melting pot to keep the tradition alive. In doing so, they have graced the stages of international folk festivals and toured the UK, Europe and North America.

In 2025 the group released two acclaimed collections, Voyage and Caught In The Net Vol.1, while their latest release is the three-track Folly - the seventh instalment of their Pieces Of Eight monthly series.

Currently touring the US with American a cappella group Home Free, The Longest Johns previously appeared on the main stage at Moseley Folk and Arts Festival in 2022.

Since debuting in 2005, Birmingham’s outdoor Moseley Folk and Arts Festival has welcomed appearances from such diverse acts as Jethro Tull, Supergrass, Billy Bragg, Jake Bugg, Don Mclean, The Monkees, Davy Graham, The Dubliners, Tinariwen, Johnny Marr, Richard Thompson, Saint Etienne, Incredible Sting Band, Pentangle, Laura Marling, Belle and Sebastian, CMAT and Wilco. This year saw lauded appearances from The Waterboys, Father John Misty and Doves.

Having paused for Covid, 2026 sees the festival celebrate its 20th birthday. Running from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026, it promises to be the biggest yet. Tier One tickets are on sale now (and already limited).
