Food and drink discovery app Wriggle has just launched in Birmingham, helping residents find and save money on the best food and drink in the city.

The Wriggle app is free to download and can be used to access book affordable deals at local, independent businesses.

The eat-out app supports independent restaurants whilst giving customers a chance to choose from unique, handpicked deals that showcase the best food and drink the city has to offer.

Birmingham venues partnering with Wriggle include award-winning Chinese restaurant Wing Wah, plant-based eatery Ba-Ha and fine dining restaurant Craft Dining Room.

The platform was founded in Bristol 2014 and now has over 400 registered partner venues and 150,000 users, helping thousands of people discover new, tasty places to eat and drink each month.

The move to Birmingham comes after a successful crowdfunding campaign earlier this year that saw the restaurant booking app dwarf its £600,00 target and hit £1M of investment. Birmingham is the first major city launch this year, with plans to roll out to five new cities within the coming year.

Speaking about the launch, Wriggle’s founder Rob Hall said: “There’s so much delicious independent food and drink to explore and enjoy in Birmingham, and it’s Wriggle’s mission to make it as easy and fun as possible for people to get out there and discover it.

“In Bristol, Brighton, Cardiff and Bath (where Wriggle currently operates) we’ve proven that our users love discovering their cities through its independent food and drink scene, and we’re really excited to team up with all Birmingham’s amazing cafes, bars, restaurants and street food traders to help spread the word about the varied, delicious food and drink they’re offering.”
