In a bold move to tackle hardship in Birmingham, renowned ad executive and filmmaker Trevor Beattie is proud to announce the launch of Tons of Help for Brum, a groundbreaking initiative from the Jack and Ada Beattie Foundation.
This new program aims to provide immediate financial assistance to residents facing acute challenges, offering £100 crisis grants with no strings attached.
Trevor Beattie, known for his extraordinary life journey that includes trekking to the South Pole with Buzz Aldrin and becoming the first Brummie in space, has dedicated himself to making a difference in the lives of others. Inspired by his parents, Jack and Ada, he established the Jack and Ada Beattie Foundation in 2011, which has since awarded cash grants to individuals in need. With Tons of Help, Beattie aims to expand this mission, ensuring that those who are struggling can access vital support.
“Many people in Birmingham are facing difficulties that can be alleviated with a little help,” said Beattie. “Tons of Help is about breaking down barriers to support. If you’re in need, apply. If you can help, contribute. It’s really that simple.”

The evening hosted by Ed James, will feature a special screening of the critically acclaimed film MOON, directed by Duncan Jones and executive produced by Trevor Beattie, followed by a reception. This event not only celebrates the launch but also seeks to raise vital funds to support those in need during the festive season.
Beattie is calling on local businesses, public figures and community members to join the initiative by raising awareness and contributing to the cause. Every donation will directly impact those struggling to make ends meet, providing them with essential support during a challenging time.
