A new after-dark Christmas experience is set to bring more than a mile of lights and festive entertainment to the West Midlands this winter.

The Winter Light Experience opens at The Belfry Hotel and Resort on Friday 27 November, inviting families, couples and adults to explore more than 30 illuminated installations across part of the resort’s renowned Brabazon Golf Course. Tickets are on sale now at winterlightexperience.co.uk.

Running until Sunday 2 January 2027, excluding Christmas Day, the 60–90-minute trail combines light, colour, interactive games and live characters with a story that unfolds as visitors make their way around.

This year’s adventure follows a Christmas mishap, after Santa makes an unexpected landing and leaves Christmas magic scattered along the trail. Visitors are challenged to follow the clues and help put things back in place along the way.

Designed to be more than just a walk through the lights, visitors can stop for festive food and drinks, visit an Après Bar or spend time around fire pits to toast marshmallows. A free-to-access Christmas Courtyard will provide a place to soak up the festive atmosphere before or after the trail, while Heated Winter Cabins can be booked in advance for those wanting somewhere private to relax during their visit. The cabins are available in 90-minute slots.

For those looking to make more of the evening, VIP tickets include fast-track entry, a soft or alcoholic drink, marshmallows and complimentary access to a private Heated Winter Cabin. Guests can enjoy table-service drinks in the cabin, with the option to bring festive food back from the Christmas Courtyard.

The experience has been created with families in mind, but is also designed to appeal to couples and adults, with immersive installations, photo opportunities and spaces to stop and enjoy the surroundings.

Guests staying at The Belfry during the event can also access discounted Winter Light Experience tickets, making it possible to combine an overnight stay with an evening at the trail.

Tickets are currently available, with prices varying depending on the date and time selected. Standard tickets start from £18.50 for adults and £12.50 for children aged 3– 15, while family tickets for two adults and two children start from £57.25. Children under three attend free.

The first opportunity to experience the trail will be Preview Night on Friday 27 November, with specially reduced ticket prices available.

There will also be dedicated sensory sessions on 30 November and 8 December, with reduced sound and capacity for visitors who prefer a calmer environment.

Selected dates will be dog-friendly, while guide dogs are welcome throughout the event. Tickets and further information: winterlightexperience.co.uk
