Birmingham's most centrally located padel facility has opened its doors.

Located on Aston University campus at Aston Triangle, a 10-minute walk from Birmingham New Street station, The Padel Loft Aston is one of the most accessible sports venues in the city. Open seven days a week, 9am to 10pm on weekdays and 9am to 9pm on weekends, it serves students, local residents, professionals, and corporate visitors alike.

When The Padel Loft Aston opened its doors on Aston University campus in May 2026, it set out to do something simple: make padel genuinely accessible to everyone in Birmingham. Two months later, the numbers, the smiles, and the growing community speak for themselves.

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Played on an enclosed glass-walled court smaller than a tennis court, it blends elements of tennis and squash into a game that is easy to pick up, highly social, and genuinely addictive. In the UK alone, participation doubled in 2025 according to LTA Padel, alongside a major spike in public awareness. Globally, padel is played by over 25 million people across more than 90 countries — and Birmingham now has its most accessible venue yet.

Unlike tennis, padel does not require years of practice to enjoy. The walls are part of the game, rallies last longer, and beginners can have fun from their very first session. It is a sport built for socialising — most formats are played in pairs, making it perfect for friends, colleagues, and anyone looking for something a little different.
