Whether you’re an active sports player or an armchair sports fan we all love to enjoy watching live sporting events in the sun over our favourite tipple. So it’s great news that the new Sporting Social has just opened for a summer of fun and they have a winning formula just for you.
The Sporting Social is now open on St Martin’s balcony outside the Bullring and serves up beer towers, alfresco cocktails and hot food.
Having arrived just in time for Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, the venue, which is open until 11 September, is sure to score a hit with shoppers and sports enthusiasts, offering front row seats of the 15ft TV screen – the perfect spot to catch the key sporting events, be it the UEFA Women’s Euros, the Commonwealth Games or the Cricket Hundreds.
Guests can show off their skills on the table tennis table or get competitive over table football, while those who prefer to spectate can enjoy a spot of lunch or sip on a cooling cocktail whilst listening to summer beats.
Dion Cox, Managing Director at Leisure Events, the company behind Sporting Social said: “We are delighted to have brought Sporting Social to Birmingham this Summer and will offer an open-air spot for refreshment for those looking for a break from the shops.
“Our proximity to the site of the medal ceremonies means that guest will be able soak up the atmosphere of the Commonwealth Games over a beer or a cocktail, all from the comfort of our shady pergolas.
“Sports fans can catch all the main action from the huge screen located next to St Martin’s Church”.
The Sporting Social overlooks St Martin’s Church and is open 11am- 10pm Monday to Saturday and between 11am – 8pm on Sunday.
