Some of the world’s strongest men will be back in Birmingham next week (Saturday 6 September) for incredible tests of power that needs to be seen to believed.

The Strongman Open, at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, will this year feature the Mutant World Deadlift Championships. It will feature Icelandic 36-year old Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson who was the 2018 World’s Strongest Man and will be a familiar figure for Game of Thrones fans having played ‘The Mountain’.

The 6ft 9 colossus pulled 505kg (1,113lb) last month to smash the world record and now will be looking to break that once more in front of a crowd of thousands.

Among those also confirmed to be there is reigning Britain’s Strongest Man Luke Stoltman and 2025 England’s Strongest Man Paddy Haynes. They’ll be joined by Welsh Strongman, Gavin Bilton along withNew Zealand’s Mat Ragg, the USA’s Bryce Johnson, Austin Andrade and Evan Singleton.

The Strongman Open is part of the Official Strongman World Tour from Giants Live which is filmed by Channel 5 at some of the biggest arenas in the UK and USA and broadcast over Christmas as part of the hugely popular World’s Strongest Man Series.
