Organisers of Birmingham Pride have announced that Years & Years will headline this year's two-day LGBTQ festival taking place in May.

The synth-pop trio, which consists of Olly Alexander, Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen, will perform at the festival on Saturday 25 May.

The band have notched up a string of hit singles including ‘Eyes Shut’, ‘Desire’, ‘Sunlight’, ‘Sanctify’ and their No.1 hit ‘King’.

They have also collaborated with some of the biggest artists today including Jess Glynne and with their most recent hit with  Jax Jones ‘Play’.

Birmingham Pride is set in the heart of the city's gay village and last year attracted more than 75,000 spectators who turned out to support the parade through the city centre.

Tens of thousands of party revellers then went on to enjoy the festival in the city’s gay village over two days. This year's festival, featuring the theme ‘Love Out Loud', takes place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May.
