In it's industrial heyday, the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal was hidden away behind high walls, however in the 1980s the canal was reborn as a green haven for locals. Now it boasts new access points, a resurfaced towpath and a wonderful trip from central Birmingham through the West Midlands country side. Going past several Birmingham landmarks on the way, including The Post Office Tower, The Farmer's Bridge Lock Flight, Salford Junction - under Spaghetti Junction - and through archways, office crofts and claustrophobic tunnels the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal is a link from historical to modern Birmingham.
