Forty-four crazy soapbox cars descend on Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park this Spring Bank Holiday Sunday, as the town hosts its first ever wacky races.
Spectators can watch as racers hurtle down the 300m track in their carefully crafted carts, hopefully avoiding the icy waters of the River Severn at the end of their journey!
Competitors will work their way through a knockout-style competition, with only the fastest 10 cars making it through to the final, where they’ll battle it out to take home the winner’s trophy.
The event is free to attend, with pop-up street food stalls, bars and loads of family-fun activities all featuring.
