The Black Country’s Dancing Grannies are delving into their dubious past for their latest live stage show.

“Back In Our Day” will trace the history of the gyrating geriatrics, starting from their teenage years and will be touring the Midlands from December into the New Year.

Their back pages will feature their dance routines from the forties through to the modern day with Letty, May and Hilda strutting their collective stuff to the various hit tunes of the day.

The group is the brainchild of Fizzogs Productions and has built up a worldwide following over the past four years since a video of one of their routines at the Stourbridge Carnival was streamed on Youtube.

Fizzog Sue Hawkins said: “The Grannies really have developed a life of their own and we have learned how to ride the wave.

“The response has been amazing since that Stourbridge Carnival video went online. It suddenly went viral with so many views on different sites all around the world. We stopped counting at 350 million. It seems to have captured the attention of all age groups.

“’Back In Our Day’ will show what the old dears have been up to through all those years and shows them in all their glory from when they were teenagers.”
