Hit 1990s US TV show Frasier is making a return. The reboot will appear on the Paramount+ platform.

Frasier was a spin-off from another popular US comedy series, Cheers, and starred Kelsey Grammer as psychiatrist and radio-show host Dr Frasier Crane. The series won 37 Emmy Awards during the course of its 11-season run on NBC.

Although Grammer will be returning in the title role, it’s not yet known whether any other original cast members will appear in the new series. John Mahoney, who played Frasier’s father, died in 2018.

News of the Frasier reboot follows last month’s announcement that another hit comedy from the 1990s, Sex And The City, would also be returning. The HBO Max show, which will take the title And Just Like That - a nod to one of the series’ catchphrases - will star original cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

Kim Cattrall, who played the role of Samantha Jones, will not feature.
