The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Day returns on Sunday 20 September 2026, 11am–5pm, bringing a full day of free family entertainment, heritage events and live music to the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.

Organised by Telford & Wrekin Council alongside local partners and community groups, the day celebrates the history and culture of the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site with activities spread across Dale End Park, the High Street, and the Iron Bridge itself.

On the High Street, visitors can enjoy roaming entertainment from folk musicians and street performers, alongside a range of local stallholders and community groups. A full programme of children's activities runs throughout the day, featuring a boardroom gaming café, puppet-making and story writing with The Coracle Trust, clay tile making at the Creation Station, and face painting. A stage by the bridge will host live music from local bands.

At Dale End Park, the ever-popular Rotary Family Fun Dog Show returns, with entry from just £3 on the day and multiple classes to enter from midday.

Families can also join the Severn Rivers Trust for hands-on environmental workshops — River Wildlife, Eco-Detectives, Wonderful Water, and the Water Hero Academy — running across the weekend of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September. These sessions are free but must be booked in advance.

The celebrations extend beyond the 20th, with National Trust Ironbridge Gorge Heritage Open Days running from 11–20 September at Broseley Pipe Works and Coalport China Museum, both showcasing the "Industrious Women" of the Gorge's industrial past.

Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Day is free to attend, with a small charge for the dog show and some workshops requiring pre-booking.
