Hawkstone Park Hotel has collaborated with artist Sam Morris to offer a unique two-day painting experience.

Sam specialises in painting cows, from realistic and traditional portraits to fun and stylised paintings. She runs numerous workshops helping people with their painting techniques. Budding artists will spend two days developing techniques and learning the skills to create their very own characters.

The Cheeky Chicken Workshop will run on 23 & 24 January, with accommodation, materials and equipment all included in the cost. Sam will demonstrate every stage of creating a painting, from inspiration to finished project, with one-to-one sessions and group demonstrations throughout.

Sam said: “On the first day of the workshop, we will start to gather inspiration, create characters and practise techniques, moving on to personalisation and the finer details on the second day, finishing with a class exhibition.”

The cost of the painting experience, which includes materials, accommodation, dinner and bed & breakfast is £324 per person. The hotel has some rooms available where well-behaved dogs can also be accommodated for a small additional charge.

Lauren Cartledge, commercial director at Hawkstone Park, said: “There are currently only 10 places left for the workshop in January, so don’t delay in booking your place - it would make a great Christmas gift for an art lover!”
