It’s fair to say that this annual event, otherwise known as L2F, absolutely lives up to its mission statement - to provide visitors with the opportunity to appreciate the very best in folk music in a friendly and welcoming environment.

The 2019 line-up includes Home Service, Merry Hell, The Lucy Ward Band (pictured), Rachael McShane and The Cartographers, Keith Donnelly, Bella, Polly and The Magpies, Anthony John Clarke and Ranagri.

Morris dancers, an arts and heritage procession, a Lichfield Arts song writing competition, a LF2 art competition and more also feature.

The Folk Train

Wednesday 25 September 2019

Join  a night of fun and music as folk musicians from around the area hold a session on the train from Lichfield Trent Valley to Sutton Coldfield. Then decamp to the Three Tuns Hotel (Suttons oldest pub) where the music continues until it’s time to leave with the session being taken on the late train back to Lichfield.

It’s going to be a night to remember and is totally free (train ticket must be purchased)! If you can play an instrument, take it along, if you can’t you’ll still have a great time!

19.40hrs, in time for the 19.58hrs train, at Lichfield Trent Valley Station or 19.45hrs for 20.02hrs train at Lichfield City on Wednesday 25 September 2019. Join at any of the stations between LTV and Sutton Coldfield.
