Climb the tower to visit the ringing chamber at Stafford St Mary’s. An opportunity to see ringing happen and examine historic items and records of ringers going back to 1750. 

The art and science of Bellringing at St Mary’s Collegiate Church will be on show in the octagonal belfry. Ascend the spiral staircase to see the history and heritage of the 10 bells. Watch ringing take place in the unique English style and try holding a bell rope. If you are interested in learning to ring you can apply for a course in Bellringing.

On the walls see boards recording the past performances of ringers celebrating many events. See the Stafford leather jack, a very unusual vessel. It carries the names of the bell ringers between 1750 and 1798.
