This festive season Weston Park will light up with a magical experience that all the family can enjoy, as Enchanted Weston takes place for the first time from 14 to 22 December. And as part of the fun, children will get to meet two festive fairies that will be brought to life with the creativity of Augmented Reality.
Enchanted Weston invites visitors to explore a half mile illuminated trail through the captivating Capability Brown pleasure grounds of Temple Wood, one of the highlights of the estate’s 1,000 acres of stunning grounds, located on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border. Lights will carefully and beautifully pick out the stunning trees and shrubs and illuminate iconic landmarks along the way.
Waiting to be discovered are Aurora the ice queen and winter elf Laurel, which children can enjoy an entrancing meeting with using a downloadable app to pose for an elfie-selfie! The fairy characters were created following the success of Weston Park’s Enchanted Glen summer experience, which gave visitors the chance to meet all kinds of fairy folk.
After walking through the illuminated forest, families can continue the fun with a visit to Festive Fizz & Eats, a pop up winter festival experience featuring delicious street food, hot cocktails and live music. Winter chills will be kept at bay with a fire pit, which will be surrounded by faux fur throws making it the perfect spot to enjoy a hot chocolate or toast marshmallows. There’s also a great selection of local artisans selling unique gifts each evening, the perfect place to do some relaxed Christmas shopping!
The Granary Deli will be fully stocked with food gift ideas and special treats to add to the Christmas table and the Granary Grill will be serving a tasty three course early bird menu from 5-7pm (£15 per adult, £10 per child). The menu features locally sourced produce with a winter flavour including, parsnip and apple soup with crusty bread, bubble & squeak with poached egg and hollandaise and coffee crème brulee with hazelnut shortbread.
Pre-booking for the Enchanted Weston experience is required, with timed tickets available online at www.weston-park.com.
Tickets cost £7 per person, a family ticket is £25 (two adults and two children) and under 4’s are free. Tickets for Annual Pass holders are £5 per person and £20 for a family (two adults and two children). There is no charge for the Enchanted Glen app.
