Coventry families can take advantage of entertainment, information and refreshments completely FREE this weekend as CU Coventry (formerly Coventry University College) hosts its first ever Community Day. Taking place from 11am until 4pm on Saturday 10 June, this brand new venture allows visitors to find out more about what the college has to offer in a relaxed, accessible environment.

Alongside kid-friendly features like a bouncy castle, inflatable games, face-painting, arts and crafts, sports and circus performers, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to pick up useful information about higher education courses and other initiatives. Free popcorn, ice cream and more will help keep energy levels up through a host of interactive, thought-provoking activities exploring various subjects. Academics will also be on hand to deliver a series of “SparkTalks” - inspiring, bitesize lectures on topical research and innovation.

Gemma Marlowe of CU Coventry said: “We wanted to hold a fun event to bring the whole community together. There will be lots of games and activities for all the family held throughout the day as well as free refreshments. Our student ambassadors will also be on-hand to provide people with information and assistance during the event. It will be a good opportunity to get families together who want to find out more about what the university has to offer as well as CU Coventry’s flexible learning options. It will also give applicants and those going into clearing a chance to visit the campus.”

CU Coventry’s Community Day takes place from 11am-4pm on Saturday 10 June. Those wishing to attend can register online at coventry.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/cucommunityday2017. A limited amount of free parking will also be available at Grove Street Car Park (CV1 5PH).
