Bon Jovi fans are being urged to plan ahead and arrive early for the band’s first performance in the city for more than a decade.

One of the planet’s biggest rock bands will be rocking the Ricoh for the third time to a 37,000-strong crowd as they bring the curtain down on the UK leg of their ‘This House Is Not For Sale Tour’.

And with the concert heading for a sell-out, stadium bosses are advising visitors to arrive in plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere and catch the support act for the night, the Manic Street Preachers.

A Green Room for ticket holders will be open inside the Ericsson Indoor Arena from 3pm until 1.30am, offering a selection of food and drink as well as a DJ, with doors to the stadium bowl opening at 5pm. Entertainment is set to begin from 6.30pm.

Justine Hewitt, Head of Operations at Ricoh Arena, outlined some key advice for those attending the concert on Sunday evening.

She said: “Excitement is building for what is set to be another memorable night at Ricoh Arena, and as we ramp up our preparations, we would also urge people to plan their journeys for what is going to be an incredibly busy occasion.

“Precautionary security checks will be taking place upon entry to the stadium bowl, and to make this as efficient as possible, we would advise people against bringing bags.  We’d urge people to arrive early to ensure they have time to go through the security checks and catch the Manic Street Preachers.

“Those parking at the stadium should be aware that cars will be held back for up to an hour after the concert to allow pedestrians to exit the venue safely.

“Coventry Arena Station will be closed post-concert for health and safety reasons but there will be taxis available at the Arena Retail Park, as well as shuttle buses running between the stadium and Coventry train station from midday until 8pm, and from 9.30pm until midnight.

“Bon Jovi’s tour has had some amazing reviews so far and has a brilliant support act lined up in the Manic Street Preachers, so we hope everybody has an enjoyable evening.”
