Leamington Mayor Councillor Ann Morrison showed her support for local business over February half-term by opening a new restaurant in the south of the town. Run by brother and sister team Antonella and Filippo Valle, the launch of Valles at the Basement follows the duo's previous success at Casa Valle in Regent Street.
The new venue offers visitors the chance to relax and enjoy modern European food in cosy, intimate surroundings. Passionate about high quality, locally sourced produce, the Valles have set out to offer something a little different to the growing number of chain restaurants in the area. Specialising in Mediterranean cuisine, the menu boasts a selection of lovingly prepared dishes including Lamb Tagine with Apricots; Risotto with Saffron, Prawns, Chilli & Lime; and Passion Fruit Posset with Orange Marmalade Compote.
Cllr Ann Morrison said: “I really welcome the addition of a new restaurant in the South of Leamington. It is good to see an independent restaurant offering first class food and it is important to have another excellent eating house in the South of the town to keep it alive. With the redevelopment of Spencer Yard and other independents in the area it is an exciting time of change for everyone.”
