Leading experts are set to unite for an international event at Coventry Cathedral this autumn. Returning for its fifth year in 2017, Mindfulness & Spiritual Intelligence will take place on Saturday 14 October.
Bringing together over 800 attendees for a collective mindfulness and compassion-based meditation, this unique annual celebration has been organised by The Flame Centre, a mindfulness, holistic and wellness centre based in Coventry’s City Arcade.
Sonya Sanghera, Co-Director of The Flame, said: “We are overwhelmed at the success and support for the events and the impact of this event on the health, mental and physical health of individuals. Every year we will give people the chance to be part of a unique and rewarding experience.
“The event offers individuals a chance to transform their life with right-mindfulness-based practices. It is a privilege to be able to host these events, especially at such a prestigious and iconic venue like Coventry Cathedral, and to have leading world experts and pioneers.”
Speakers at the event will include Dav Panesar, a pioneer of right-mindfulness-based interventiones in health and personal development, with over 20 years’ experience in the field; as well as Professor Brian Les Lancaster, who specialises in consciousness studies and transpersonal psychology at Liverpool John Moores University. They’ll be joined by Ivana Buric, a PhD student at Coventry University exploring the impact of mindfulness on human genetics.
Live music will also be performed, and visitors will be able to get an insight into real life case studies, with people sharing transformational experiences, challenges and solutions.
Trish Willetts, Coventry Business Improvement District (BID) manager, said: “Mindfulness & Spiritual Intelligence is a such a wonderful event and one that puts Coventry on an international stage. Now in its fifth year, it keeps growing and improving and it’s a testament to all the hard work of the organisers. We are thrilled to be supporting it this year and getting behind the Flame Centre to promote spiritual intelligence in Coventry and across the globe.”
Right-mindfulness is a form of breathing-focused meditation undertaken in a compassionate and non-judging manner which can help people overcome depression, anxiety and stress by quieting the constant train of thoughts.
Spiritual intelligence (SQ) is an essential component of both personal and professional development. It is the ability to behave with wisdom and compassion, while maintaining inner and outer peace in any situation.
Mindfulness & Spiritual Intelligence 2017 is at Coventry Cathedral from 6-9pm on Saturday 14 October. For more information, visit http://www.the-flame.co.uk or drop into the offices at 14 City Arcade, CV1 3HW.
