A Go Ape site at Coombe Country Park has been unanimously approved by councillors.
It is thought that the high rope courses will be built in the woodland area adjacent to Coombe Abbey’s formal gardens, where there are also plans for zip wires and timber structures (one of which will act as the reception and offices).
Go Ape is set to open from February and will operate through til December, creating one full-time and up to thirty seasonal jobs.
The only concern expressed by certain councillors was the current parking situation, particularly during the summer months. However after a traffic survey was conducted on August Bank Holiday, this showed there was sufficient capacity to accommodate visitors.
