The Chineke! Orchestra makes its debut at Warwick Arts Centre's Butterworth Hall on Monday 17 February 2020. The concert marks the start of a relationship that will see the orchestra perform regularly in Coventry, and working closely with students and other community groups in the area.

Chineke! is Europe’s first professional orchestra comprised of a majority of black and minority ethnic (BME) musicians. Each of its programmes includes works by composers of BME heritage and this programme opens with Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Othello Suite taken from incidental music written for a production of the play in 1911, and including the bewitching Children’s Intermezzo.

Tai Murray, a former BBC New Generation Artist is the soloist in Bruch’s ever-popular Violin Concerto and Chineke! celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth with a performance of his 7th Symphony.
