2020 will see Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery become the inaugural venue for international touring exhibition Interface.

Fifteen artists from England and fifteen from Canada come together to display beautiful woven tapestries in this contemporary showcase of a traditional craft.

Each small-format tapestry has taken inspiration from the exhibition title: Interface. With ideas drawn from the human face, the natural world and even politics, the individual responses result in an eclectic exhibition of both representative and abstract tapestries.

Featured artist weavers come from a diverse range of creative backgrounds and stages in their careers, from novice weavers to those with international reputations. These small-scale artworks enlighten the viewer to the breadth of approaches that exist in tapestry weaving today.

Tapestry Touring International is a not-for-profit group which aims to provide opportunities for tapestry weavers from different countries to present collaborative exhibitions on an international platform. Interface continues its tour to other national and international venues in 2020. More details can be found on the Tapestry Touring International website.

Cllr Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture says:

“We are highly privileged that Nuneaton will be the first destination for this marvellous international touring exhibition. Come and be inspired by these intricate, handcrafted artworks.”
